FAQs

          About TINCTURE

Why is TINCTURE named TINCTURE?

TINCTURE’S formulations have all been inspired by ancient monastic wisdom; a lot of research has gone into herbalism and botany, which started thousands of years ago. Often cultivated in ancient cloister gardens, monks would extract the essence of plants into tinctures, used for their healing, wellbeing and cleansing properties; as all of our formulations are based on botanical extracts, essential oils and plant activities, we chose the name “TINCTURE”. It is a symbol of our rich heritage and desire to work with the power of plants in honour of nature.

What is active silver?

Silver has been used for hundreds of years as a way of preserving freshness for example, in ancient times water was kept in silver jugs. Extensive research has found that silver has many other benefits, not only as a natural preservative but also as an antimicrobial agent. Silver is commonly used in the medical sector to stop the spread of bacteria and disease without causing resistant strains.
Silver works by interfering with the metabolism of the bacteria and so preventing reproduction and growth.
TINCTURE uses silver in the bottle material to ensure the packaging can be reused safely as well as remaining bacteria free at all times.
